Day of the Dead
Dia de los Muertos, or The Day of the Dead, really freaked me out when I first learned about the celebration fifteen or so years ago. However, once I did more research on its origins- the philosophies about, and respect for the dead represented in this festival is fascinating. The ancient Mayan and Mexican belief that the dead come back to visit once and year, are the same as they were when they were alive (desires, habits, etc) and that the dead should be embraced and not feared is inspirational to me. Help me celebrate my favorite holiday by joining us in the studio for a photoshoot! You can learn more about the festival of Dia de los Muertos here.
